What Makes Us Unique

The Bible—We believe what God has declared the Bible to be, His perfect, sufficient, inspired and Holy Word without any error. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

The Gospel—The Bible tells us that God had created everything very good but sin entered through one man and death through sin passed on to all men.  God planned even before the creation of the world to save man through sending His Son.  God tells us there is salvation in no one else but His Son, Jesus Christ.  Jesus being fully God took on flesh and was born of a virgin.  Jesus had committed no sin but took our sins upon Himself and God's wrath was poured out upon Him on the cross.  Christ rose from the dead after three days and now sits at the right hand of the Father interceding for believers.  God's wrath has been appeased by the life, death, and resurrection of Christ for those who repent of their sin and trust in Christ as Lord and Savior and they are given eternal life.  This glorious salvation is given by grace through faith alone in Christ alone and not by our works that God would receive all the glory. (Genesis 1, Romans 5:12, Ephesians 1:3-6, Acts 4:12, John 1:1-16, Matthew 1:23, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Isaiah 53, Romans 3:23-26, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Romans 8:34, 1 John 5:13, Ephesians 2:1-10, Romans 9:16, 1 Corinthians 1:27-31)

The Family—The Bible teaches us that man and woman were both created equally in the image of God. God created marriage in the garden to be between one man and one woman. God also created man and woman with uniquely distinct roles in the home and the church. God designed the husband/father’s headship to display Christ’s care, love, and willingness to die for the church. He also designed the wife/mother’s willing submission to display the church’s submission to Jesus Christ in everything. Children are thus brought up under the visible and verbal teaching and instruction of the Word of God with the gospel being top priority. (Genesis 2:18-25, 3:16; Deuteronomy 6, Ephesians 5:22-6:4; Colossians 3:18-21; 1 Timothy 3:1-13; Titus 1:6-11, 2:1-6)

Holy Living—The Bible teaches us that while we live in this world we are not to live as the world or participate in the sinful ways of this world. God has called us to live holy lives in this sinful world so that we shine as lights, holding forth the Word of Life. (John 15:19, 17:13-17; Romans 12:1-2; 2 Corinthians 6:14-18; Philippians 2:13-16; James 1:27, 4:4; 1 Peter 1:13-16; 1 John 2:15-16)

Our Worship—Our Sunday morning worship is traditional and always includes; sound Biblical hymns and songs, an expository message from the Bible, reading of Scripture, communion, and corporate prayer. While we do have a nursery for infants, we intentionally do not have a ‘children’s church’ as we keep families together for the worship service.         (Matthew 26:26-28; John 4:23-24; Acts 2:40-47; 1 Timothy 4:13; 2 Timothy 2:15 )

Elder Leadership—The Bible teaches us that He has set apart and qualified some men to be spiritual shepherds to lead and oversee His church. (1 Timothy 3:1-6; Titus 1:7-9; 1 Peter 5:1-3)

Missions & Evangelism Focus—The Bible teaches disciples of Jesus are to make disciples, locally, regionally, and even to the ends of the earth. Grace Christian Church supports our missionaries directly and with over twenty-five percent of our yearly budget. We also personally engage in making the gospel known each week, and through the year via various outreaches. (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:47)

Conservative Without Being Legalistic—Grace Christian Fellowship is a conservative body of believers (literal six days of creation, men only as pastors/elders, practice church discipline when necessary, encourage modest clothing) but we do not allow our non-essentials to divide our body and we strive to lovingly and graciously defer to one another in matters of conscience. (Romans 14)
